St James Chorley Service Times
Sunday
Morning Service
This is the earlier of our two Sunday morning service. Most weeks we take part in the Lord's Supper using the Book of Common Prayer service (1662) but on a 5th Sunday we use the BCP Morning Prayer. There is always a sermon and hymns are sung led by a pianist.
Every Sunday at 8:45 AM for 1 hour
Morning Praise
This is the later of our morning services. In general the first, third and fifth Sundays are Morning Praise and the second and fourth Sundays are Communion. There is always singing which includes both traditional and brand new all led by our music group. The service is family orientated and Children's activities take place in the same building except when we have an occasional family service. Bible teaching is an important part of the service and there is always a serMonday
Every Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Joint Evening Service
The evening service is held jointly with the parishes of St. Barnabas Heapey and St. Paul's Withnell but is always held at St. James. The service includes prayer and praise but is more informal and more focussed on in-depth teaching than the morning services.
The service itself lasts about an hour. After the service coffee is available and, for those who wish to stay, there is then opportunity to grill the speaker or discuss issues raised together.
Every Sunday at 6:00 PM for 1½ hours
