St James the Deacon welcomes Christians and those who seek to connect to Christianity in the York area.
We aim to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-changing Christian journey.
We are a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God.
Our vision is to make an impact for God, here in York, York by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds.

The main service of the week with coffee afterwards - Friendly, relaxed, reverent - All ages, individuals, families welcome - Very easy to follow - Mixture of traditional and modern hymns and songs - Wheelchair & buggy friendly - Young Deacons Sunday School -
Children are part of the worshipping family
All are together at the start of the service, then the children leave for their own activities and rejoin the service for the Pace and the Communion. - Christenings are at this service, normally once a month on the first Sunday

Holy Communion
Specially for PARENTS WITH SMALL CHILDREN (newborn upwards)
+ Very child-friendly, yet not a children's service but an opportunity for us as parents to worship without worrying about how your children are behaving - noise doesn't matter, God can hear over it.
+ Coffee afterwards, with plenty of toys
Every Tuesday at 10:00 AM for 20 minutes
Fellowship group
This is a contact group open to all
There is a short informal service, activities such as quizzes, visiting speakers, videos, and a cup of tea
From time to time there are coach outings and theatre visits.
Does not meet in August
Every second and fourth Tuesday at 2:00 PM for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
