Who we are

Welcome to St. Joan of Arc, a Roman Catholic church and member of the Diocese of Fall River. We are situated in Orleans, Massachusetts. Orleans is a resort community on the outer Cape in southeastern Massachusetts, at the elbow of Cape Cod. The church consists of 1100 families of many nationalities and all ages.

We are a faith-filled community and this is a joy! The wonderful spirit of generosity and hospitality of our parish is a constant beacon of welcome for all who seek the warm embrace of solace and friendship. This is a special charisma which continually strengthens and inspires us.

Both the upper church and the church hall are handicap accessible.

New Parishioners are welcome. Please introduce yourselves to the priest after Mass or call the office to register. We urge you to become active members of our Parish Family.

Leader Bio:
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit more about myself. My roots are in the Fall River area. I was born in Fall River on March 12, 1972 to Leo and Mary (Daley) Rodrigues. My sister Ellen and I grew up in Somerset. I graduated from Somerset High School in the class of 1990 and entered St. John's Seminary College in Brighton following graduation.

After four years of undergraduate studies and seminary formation, I completed two years of theology training at the Gregorian University in Rome. On June 3, 2000 I was ordained to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Over the years, I have served as parochial vicar at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Hyannis and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in New Bedford. I have been chaplain at hospitals in Fall River and New Bedford. For the past five years I have been pastor of St. Anthony's Parish in Taunton.

Cape Cod has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family vacationed here on the cape every summer. Many Sunday mornings we would attend Mass here at St. Joan of Arc Church. Back then I never imagined that I would one day be here in this capacity as pastor. One of the blessings for me in this assignment is that it brings me closer to my family. My sister and her Brewster-native husband are raising their family in Yarmouth. My mother, now widowed, since my father's passing in October of 2003, lives here on Cape Cod, as well.

I ask for your prayers for me and the ministry. Be assured of my prayers for you as we walk together, striving to serve the Lord and live our discipleship day by day. Please know that I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your pastor.
