Who we are
St John’s is a 'Church of England’ church and is part of the Horsham Team Ministry, which consists of five Anglican churches that together serve most of Horsham.
We currently have a vacancy for a Team Vicar which we hope will be filled in the early part of 2012.
Our vision is to be a church that embraces the five key purposes of the church described in Acts Chapter 2:
• Worship: encountering God's presence.
• Discipleship: growing in Christian faith.
• Fellowship: deepening our friendships with each other.
• Serving: working together as a team.
• Evangelism: reaching out to others with the love of Christ.
Our services are at 9am and 10.30am. The 9am service is always Communion. The 10.30am service is a more informal service with a full range of children’s activities. On 1st Sunday evenings there is an informal evening service, Encounter, led by the Band, at 8pm.
Children and Young People at St John’s:
At our 10.30 services on 2nd and 3rd Sundays, after a short time of all-age worship, children go to their own groups to have fun and learn together. They then rejoin the adults for Communion or a further time of all-age worship near the end of the service. On 4th Sundays they have their own service ‘Ignite’ in the Hall and join us once that has finished.
There are groups for children of all ages:
Sparklers - 0 - 2 year olds
Flames – Age 3 – School Year R
Beacons - Years 1-3
Lasers - Years 4-6
Enlight (NLt) - Years 7-9
Pyro – Year 10+
A Parish wide cell group for Year 10+ meets on alternate Wednesdays. A Year 8-9 Parish wide cell group meets on the same alternate Wednesdays.
On each second Sunday at 7pm Enter is a service aimed at young people held at St. Mark's Church, North Heath Lane. Year 7+
