St. Mary Parish History
St. Mary’s was begun on August 15, 1875 by Fr. Frederic Uhing, pastor of St. Anthony’s in St. Charles Township. For this reason the full name of the parish is “Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.” But early on, it was called “St. Mary’s.”
