Who we are
We are a friendly church rooted in the modern catholic tradition of the Church of England, committed to uplifting worship, sharing the Gospel with all in our community and beyond, and offering a warm welcome to all. You are most welcome to join us at any of our services.
As the Church of England parish church, we are available for all the people of Cheshunt. Many people at very different stages of life and belief discover through the church how God relates to ordinary life. We try to cater both for those who come occasionally, for those who come regularly and for newcomers. Christians have worshipped here since St Mary's was first built some 600 years ago, although there is evidence of an older church building, dedicated to St John the Baptist, on the site of our present day church.
Generations of people have adapted the building for its main purpose - to be the focus and base for our church’s mission in Cheshunt. We exist to discover the love of God revealed in the world. By worship, prayer, teaching and service we seek to point to that love most especially made known in the person of Jesus Christ. We work closely with the three other churches in the Cheshunt Team Ministry, St Clement's, Turnford, St James', Goffs Oak, and Christ Church, Waltham Cross.
