St Michael & All Angels Great Tew Service Times
Sunday
Family Eucharist
10.00 am each Sunday (except when a united service is held elsewhere in the Benefice on a fifth Sunday in the month). Common Worship, traditional language. Coffee on the first Sunday of the month.
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM
Monday
Bell Practice Night
Our bells date back to 1709, making ours the oldest ring of eight in Oxfordshire outside Oxford City. The tenor is just over 22 cwt, and the draft is long -- but the bells are lovely. At present we have a small but enthusiastic band, helped out by friends from Duns Tew. Learners are very welcome, and will get excellent tutoring in a friendly and supportive setting. More experienced ringers are also welcome to join us. Conscious of the need to offer consistent ringing for Sunday service, we have been working through a range of Doubles methods, and have even practised some Minimus for days when few of us are present. However, on the first Sunday of the month we ring all eight bells, with our own band and with others.
At other times we welcome visiting bands. For contact information, please consult the Banbury Branch web site. Our tower page can be found on http://www.parishes.oxford.anglican.org/bell-ringers/banbury/Great_Tew.htm .
Every Monday at 7:30 PM for 1½ hours
