St. Michael History
The first Catholic settlers arrived in the Tramping Lake area, the centre of St. Joseph's Colony, in 1906. The first Mass was celebrated on Pentecost Sunday 1906 by Father Joseph Laufer, OMI. The third and present St. Michael's church building was built in 1922.
