Who we are
We are two United Church congregations located in the heart of the Pembina Valley region of Southern Manitoba. Our two congregations, Zion Calvin in Darlingford and St Paul's in Morden have a close relationship while at the same time remain distinct and true to themselves. Several of the members and friends of Pembina Parish are prairie farmers whose families have been in the area for generations. While most have been part of town and rural life for many years, others have left Manitoba only to return to the wide landscapes and vast open skies. Pembina Parish offers a real spiritual home to people from Morden, Darlingford and the surrounding area whose faith journey has led them to be part of this church which is inclusive, welcomes diversity, seeks justice and warmly shares the love and welcome of Christ.
Mission Statement
Pembina Parish is a caring Christian community, welcoming all people to join in our journey of celebrating God’s presence, sharing our gifts locally and globally, while exploring our faith.
Vision Statement
Pembina Parish is an Affirming community of faith, dedicated to spiritual growth, acceptance, and love.
We will be inclusive, encouraging full participation in all church life to people of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
We will maintain integrity and transparency in all our relationships.
We will live social justice and put our faith into action, always discerning where God is leading us, so we maintain relevance in our community and changing world

Leader Bio:
Rev. Carrie sums up her call to ministry simply as: Love God’s people; share God’s story. She is passionate about the intergenerational church and her faith is rooted in the knowledge that we are all created in the image and likeness of a loving, creating, and reconciling God. This belief grounds her understanding of church that is affirming and challenges dominant narratives that exclude and oppress.
When Carrie isn’t in the office she loves to cook, read fiction, and hang out with her partner, Alicia and their daughter, Annalie.
