Tea Creek Baptist Church History
In 1872 the Tea Creek Baptist Church was organized, its membership consisted of families who had orginally worshiped at Zion Baptist Church. The Church building was built on land donated by Robert Levitt in the summer of 1872. The original meeting house with many additions is the one still worshiped in today.
Founding members were William Robins, Lavina Robins, John Short, Lucinda Short, Basil Johnson, Ellen Johnson, Joseph Vance, Elizabeth Vance, Boyd Vance, Matilda Vance, G.W. Craig, Fergus Blakely, Martha Blakely, Charles Walker, Julia Walker
Noah Johnson, George Johnson, James Stoddard, Mariel Hartwell, Sardis Robins, William R. Craig, A.S. Graves, Susan Hartwell, Margaret Blakely, Eliza Hartwell, Nellie Short, Mary Vance, Serena Tribbet, Alpharetta Kinder, Ester Stoddard, Betsy Earl, Lucinda Vance, Eliza Laman, Eliza Robins, Sara McWorter, Zilpha Spencer, Margaret Spencer, Emily Spencer, Charlotte Craig and T.J. Bush.

In 1886 the first Sunday School was organized under the leadership of J.H. Blankenship.
