Who we are
Trinity Church has deep roots in Cornwall. Founded in 1787, we are well into our third century of worship and service together, loving God and loving our neighbours.
Our prayer is to become the body of Christ in this place and in this time. As we pray that prayer, we trust that we are allowing God to embody the ministry of Jesus Christ - forgiveness, reconciliation, and the promise of new life - through us.

Leader Bio:
Father Adam Brown is a graduate of Trinity College at the University of Toronto and was ordained to the priesthood in December of 2020.
Though he is relatively new to the Diocese of Ottawa, he has been involved in the life of the diocese since the summer of 2019 when he participated in the Summer Internship Program with Archdeacon Doug Richards in the Area Parish of Prescott-North Glengarry with Grenville and Calumet. He was appointed Incumbent of the Area Parish of the Saint Lawrence on 11 December, 2023
Fr. Adam began his curacy at All Saints, Westboro, in November of 2019, and was quickly ordained a deacon in December. Shortly after the pandemic hit he continued his curacy at the Church of the Ascension, in downtown Ottawa.
Adam was born and raised in the small town of Mount Forest, in Southwestern Ontario, where he attended his family’s local United Church. Enthusiasm for church life led him to be the youngest person to hold a position on the United Church’s General Council Executive. Shortly after starting his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Trent University in Peterborough (2010-2015), Adam began his journey to the Anglican Church of Canada. He completed his MDiv at Trinity College (2015-2019) where he was the first solo person to be the student Head of Divinity for two years in a row and completed several internships at a variety of inner city and suburban parishes.
Adam loves to be creative in his spare time. He was a choral scholar at both parish churches and Trinity College and so loves to sing. Adam also has a love of photography, and is slowly learning how to do basic woodworking. In his spare time he likes to be out in nature, or visiting cafés with a good book, or even just spending time at home with a good movie.

Trinity Anglican Church History
Origins
In June of 1784, Sir John Johnston brought a group of United Empire Loyalists to Royal Township No. 2, the site of future Cornwall - and an Anglican congregation soon developed. Only the fourth Anglican church built in Upper Canada, the original church building opened for worship on January 26, 1806. In 1819 King George III formally granted the land to the Church of England in Upper Canada. The current church, the former rectory (now rented to the Tri-County Literacy Council) and the adjoining churchyard cemetery (closed since 1876) are situated on that same land.
Bishop Strachan Memorial Church
The cornerstone to the second - and current - church building was laid on June 24, 1869 and opened to worship on January 17, 1875. The current church was built in memorial to the Rt. Reverend John Strachan, former Bishop of Toronto, and a former rector of Trinity Church. During the century that followed, the church was modernized, decorated and expanded, with the parish hall being completed in 1952 and renovated in 1979.
Today
In 2018, the congregation joined the newly formed Area Parish of the St. Lawrence (St. Lawrence Parish) along with two other Anglican churches in the region - Christ Church Seaway (Long Sault) and St. John the Evangelist (Lancaster).
