We Are Venture
Venture exists to be a catalyst to transform the Bay Area from a place of spiritual darkness to a global strategic teaching and discipleship center for the gospel of Jesus Christ by partnering with Living on the Edge and like-minded churches to produce Romans 12 Christians … here, there and everywhere.

Venture is filled with real people intent on reflecting the saving grace of Jesus Christ ... here, there, and everywhere.

We’re people dependent on the power of Jesus Christ to help us live and love like Christians described in Romans 12 (“r12” for short), modeling God’s character and pointing others to Him.

My wife, Theresa, and I are the parents of four and grandparents of ten and we thoroughly enjoy time with our family. I’m passionate about helping Christians really live like Christians, and have spent the last 25 years as a pastor, author, coach and teacher. I hold an M.S. degree from West Virginia State University and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. In addition to my work as a pastor at Venture, I am also President of Living on the Edge (LOTE), an international teaching and discipleship ministry and served as a past-president of Walk Through the Bible. I’ve had the privilege of authoring 15 books and delivering God’s Word to more than a million people a week via radio and television outlets worldwide.

Services usually run one hour and 15 minutes: 25 minutes of songs led by our Worship Team, a quick “hello” to everyone from stage, and around 45 minutes of teaching by one of our teaching pastors (or sometime a guest speaker). The music is in a contemporary, band-driven style, and the teaching is practical and straight out of the bible.
If it’s your first time, be sure to stop by the Guest Center on the way out. You’ll get a chance to meet our pastors, and we have a gift to say thanks for being our guest today.

At Venture, you can 'come as you are.' We're a diverse group from all walks of life, so you'll fit in just as you are. Be comfortable, and don’t feel like you need to dress up. Jeans and a T-shirt are just as acceptable as a suit or a dress.

We offer translation services for those who speak a different primary language other than English. Currently, we offer Korean & Mandarin Chinese translation during the 11am service.

The Spanish-speaking community enjoys worship and teaching in their language at Venture en Espanol each Sunday at 1:30pm in Venue 2.

Venture was born when Los Gatos Christian Church and South Valley Christian Church merged in 2007. God further established this new “venture” as a single, unified church by calling Chip Ingram as Senior Pastor in 2009.
Today, Venture continues to pursue the vision to reach the Bay Area and beyond with the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. In doing so, we partner with churches all over the world and with Living on the Edge (LOTE).
